Although there are numerous skin lasers available in the market, they are not all the same.  In fact, even if the “lasers” are the same, the delivery system, the cooling system and the software can dictate clinical outcome, treatment safety and patient comfort of a particular unit.  After a scrutinizing review of available skin rejuvenation lasers in the market, our practice chose Fraxel product based on its unparalleled track record of clinical excellence.  The company, Solta Medical invested tremendous amount of resource for clinical research and research development.  It’s considered the industry gold standard for skin rejuvenation and skin resurfacing.

What is Fraxel re:store DUAL laser?
Our newest Fraxel re:store DUAL offers the most advanced rejuvenation treatment, adding a 1927nm wavelength laser to the original and most popular 1550nm, Fraxel re:store.  The new 1927nm wavelength increases the afficacy in treating age spots/sun spots, melasma and improve skin texture in addition to wrinkles, acne scars, surgical scars and actinic keratosis that the original Fraxel re:store is known to perform well for.

The Fraxel re:store DUAL laser unit is designed to treat patients with all skin types (different complexions).  With its sophisticated software and physician’s knowledge and experience, the risk of developing treatment side effects such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, can be greatly minimized.

The treatment is very well-tolerated and involves little post-operative care.  To make the treatment comfortable, patients only need topical anesthetic ointment before procedure. No local anesthetic injection or block is required.  After the procedure, sun block is recommended to protect the rejuvenated skin.  The fractional treatment allows patients to have very little downtime, usually about two to three days of mild redness, and mild peeling of aged skin at day three and four depending on the exact procedure performed.
